Typically, when children are removed from their homes or moved

from foster home to foster home their belongings are placed into large trash bags, boxes or grocery bags. Thanks to the National Counseling Group and their partners at The Bridge, a Network of Churches, children entering foster care can now make the sometimes traumatic transition to their new home with love and dignity.
The organizations donated over 30 pieces of luggage, duffle bags, and smaller suitcases to the Newport News Department of Human Services. Keeley Fenning and National Counseling Group, drove a U-Haul of items including brand new and gently used luggage, duffle bags, and backpacks to grateful staff from the Newport News Department of Human Services Resource Parent Unit. Every piece of luggage has an ID card that reads “You are loved”.
