Free soccer clinic for youth ages 7 to 12 and adult soccer tournament
Preparations are well underway for the 2016 Soccer Tournament and Outreach Festival on Saturday, August 20 from 8:30 AM until 1:30 PM at Riverview Farm Park. The event is hosted by the Hispanic Advisory Committee to the City Manager in partnership with the Hampton Roads Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and focuses on youth participation and family engagement.

The Hispanic Advisory Committee is extending an invitation to community organizations to share information about their programs and services with Newport News residents. There is no cost for non-profit organizations to participate but there is a $25 sponsorship fee to for-profit organizations. Community organizations will share their information from 10 AM until 1:30 PM. To participate organizations need to register before Friday, July 29th by contacting Eoghan “Owen” Miller at (757) 926-3681.
Children ages 7-12 can participate in a free youth soccer clinic from 11 AM to 1 PM. The adult soccer tournament, which brings together local teams comprised of different ethnic and cultural backgrounds, starts promptly at 8:30 AM. A variety of fun activities for children that are in attendance, but do not wish to play soccer are available. All activities are free and open to the public.
