Live Performances at the World Arts Celebration

Posted on July 14, 2016 at 8:22 AM by Communications Department

Experience cultures from around the globe at the World Arts Celebration at City Center this Saturday from 4-9 PM as folk dance, live music, martial arts, and storytelling performances fill three different stages. The World Stage features Panamanian Folkloric Group of Hampton singers_SCRoads at 4 PM, Atumpan African Dance at 4:30 PM, the Peninsula Chinese American Association (Tai-chi Team, Youth and Adult Folk Dance) at 5 PM, Tumbao Salsero (Latin America) at 5:30 PM, and headliner Red Baraat from 7 – 9 PM. Red Baraat is an eight-piece band from Brooklyn, New York. Conceived by dhol player Sunny Jain, the group has drawn worldwide praise for its singular sound — a merging of hard driving North Indian Bhangra with elements of go-go, rock and jazz.

This is an experience that shouldn’t be missed! Be sure to capture it all on Snapchat using the World Arts Celebration filter and send it to us for a chance to win fun prizes!
