Public Meeting June 30, Yates Elementary, 5PM-7PM
A number of citizens have requested a pedestrian access from Spring

Road to City Center Boulevard. Spring Road was disconnected for both pedestrians and vehicles when City Center Boulevard and the associated sound wall were constructed two years ago. Pedestrians are now using nearby yards as a shortcut around the wall. With the projected opening of a new 7-11 at the corner of Nettles and City Center Boulevard, this cut through traffic is only expected to increase. A project that would create a new lighted sidewalk with an opening through the wall while maintaining the overall noise reduction qualities of the sound wall was proposed. As we began sharing the plans, some residents expressed concerns.
The Department of Engineering will host a Public Information Session

, Thursday, June 30 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Yates Elementary School located at 73 Maxwell Lane. to review the plans and answer citizen questions on different aspects of the project. Written and oral comments will be welcomed. For further information, please contact Project Manager Carolyn Bowman, Engineer III, at 926-3667.or
