Since March of 2013, you can call one place for non-emergency questions or to submit a service request - the Newport News 311 Center. Within the city limits you can simply dial 311 or dial 757-933-2311 if calling from outside city limits.

Lost your birth certificate and not sure where to get another one? Call Newport News 311. Getting married to that special someone and want to know where to go to get a license? Call Newport News 311. Find out what you can recycle, report tall grass in your neighborhood or find out where your closest library is located.
