Housing Broker Team Landlord Appreciation

Posted on June 9, 2016 at 4:08 PM by Latoya Jefferson

The Human Services’ Housing Broker Team recently hosted a Landlord Appreciation and Information Event at South Morrison Family Education Center. The Housing Broker Team aims to rapidly re-house households with children under the age of 18 and then identify and coordinate the other supportive services needed to ensure the household is able to maintain stable housing. At the event the Housing Broker Team acknowledged and expressed appreciation to the housing agencies, landlords, property managers, and owners who have worked with Human Services to help them sustain this goal.keys scaled

When landlords, owners, etc. partner with the Team, they are actively engaged in reducing the number of homeless households in the city while simultaneously decreasing rental vacancy rates and offering opportunities for individuals and families to become self-sufficient.

In addition to providing an opportunity for the participants to network and share their experiences, the Team provided a mini-information session that highlighted the benefits of working with the Housing Broker Team for both landlords and tenants and additional Housing Crisis Hotline information.

If an individual or family is currently homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, please have them contact the Housing Crisis Hotline at 757-587-4202.
