The City of Newport News’ annual Memorial Day

ceremony will be held on May 30, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Victory Arch, 25th Street & West Avenue, in downtown
Newport News. American Legion Braxton-Perkins Post 25 will once again host the ceremony which honors those who have died while serving in our country's armed forces.
The ceremony is free and the public is cordially invited to attend.
This year’s guest speaker will be Command Sergeant Major Annette R. Weber, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Joint Base Langley-Eustis.
In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at Braxton-Perkins’ post home located at 7609 Marshall Ave, Newport News, VA 23605.

After the ceremony, learn about America's rich military heritage at the Virginia War Museum. Visit the museum on Memorial Day and receive $1 off the posted admission prices.
Located at 9285 Warwick Boulevard in historic Huntington Park, the Virginia War Museum displays outstanding collections of personal artifacts, weapons, vehicles, uniforms, posters, and much more which trace the development of the U.S. military from 1775 through the present.
