Citizens and visitors can now get detailed information about the Newport News Park with the click of a button. The Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism worked together with the Newport News Waterworks Department to create an
interactive online map for Newport News Park just in time for the park’s 50th anniversary.

While a printed paper map is still available, the interactive map allows visitors to get up close and personal with the park’s amenities on a mobile device or a computer. The online map allows guests to pan around the park and click to see photos and videos. Guests can also quickly locate the exact area of playgrounds, picnic shelters, boat ramps, scenic spots and more within the 7,500 acre park.
Although the map is interactive, it does not give guests the ability to book and reserve park facilities. Reservations for use of certain park amenities must still be made in person or on the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism’s website.
