This Sunday, March 11, join the Peninsula Flag Football League (PFFL) for the annual Spring Kickoff and Youth Camp. The event takes place at 705 Adams Drive in Newport News (turf field) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The youth component, for ages 5-18, begins at 10 a.m. and is free and open to the public. The camp includes football fundamental drills, a punt, pass and kick competition with prizes, and a skills competition. Guests will hear from speakers that are former and current pro football players as well as Newport News city officials. In addition, the Newport News Police and Fire departments will be in attendance to encourage youth and law enforcement to foster positive interaction and collaboration. Attendees can even tour a fire truck! Lunch is provided for all participants by community sponsor Papa Johns.
After the youth camp at 1 p.m., adults can play in a charity football game that includes players under 30 against players ages 30 and up. It costs $10 to play and proceeds are being donated to the Boys and Girls Club, The Kidney Foundation and local grassroots organizations. Additional donations are welcome. Registration is not required for either event. Contact Destiny Elliott for any questions at
