The National Center for Prevention of Community Violence, in partnership with Christopher Newport University's Center for Community Engagement and the Peninsula Fine Arts Center, is hosting the Gang Reduction Conference. The conference is designed to prepare leaders for strategic community impact to reduce gang violence and takes place Tuesday, March 27 at Christopher Newport University from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The conference features Fox News Anchor Kelly Wright and Barbara Hamm Lee, host of Another View. The conference brings together an interdisciplinary collective of speakers, panelists, artists, and activists to educate, equip, and engage the community in its efforts to reduce gang violence. Panelists will discuss, why individuals join gangs, how gang activity impacts a community, and what strategies to employ to reduce gang activity in communities.
