The Department of Engineering is holding a public meeting next week to review plans for a traffic improvement project along Jefferson Avenue near the airport. The meeting is at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7 at Kiln Creek Elementary School, 1501 Kiln Creek Parkway. Citizens and interested parties can review maps, plans and drawings at the meeting, and Engineering staff will be available to discuss the proposed improvements and answer questions.
A project to improve the flow of vehicular traffic through the airport corridor on Jefferson Avenue and increase pedestrian safety in that area is currently under design. The plan calls for enhancements to be made on Jefferson Avenue at the intersections of Boykin Lane, Habersham Drive and Brick Kiln Boulevard/Walmart Way. The project also includes improvements to pedestrian walkways and facilities. For more information contact Project Manager Cornealious Scott at 926-8601 or
