Midtown Community Center is Giving Away Free Trees!

Come to Brittingham-Midtown Community Center on Saturday, March 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. for the bare root tree and shrub seedlings give away. This free event is open to the public and items are available on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last. Everyone should bring a large trash bag to place their trees and shrubs in as one will not be provided. 

3-1 treeThere tentatively more than 20 variety of trees available including: Apple, Pear, Buttonbush,  Dogwood, Red Osier, Allegh, Chinquapin, Hazelnut, Elderberry- American, Maple, Oak, Bald Cypress, Pine, Wash. Hawthorne, River Birch, and more. These trees are provided by the Virginia Forestry Department by way of a generous donation from the Vaughan-Bassett Furniture Company.The event is organized by Newport News residents, Mohamed and Cheri Elrahhal.
