Tomorrow marks the beginning of One City Marathon Weekend so today, we bring you our final spotlight of the week! Newport News Shipbuilding is this year’s One City Marathon Presenting Sponsor and has been every year since the first marathon in 2015. We greatly value their partnership and continued support which ensure that the marathon is able to take place. The fact that their employees enjoy participating is icing on the cake!
This Sunday, numerous shipyard employees, from nuclear engineers to apprentices, are trading their normal footwear for running shoes. There are a variety of reason why they run. Some run for their family or family members, others run for specific causes like Veteran’s Awareness or to get healthier. Whatever reason they run, they have fun. Whether it’s seeing parts of the city at eye level, challenging themselves or challenging each other, participating in the One City Marathon has made a difference in their lives. Click the
