Newport News Parks, Recreation & Tourism is accepting vendor applications from community and non-profit organizations for the 29th Annual Newport News Children's Festival of Friends on Saturday, May 5, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Newport News Park. The festival features over 100 hands-on activities including make-and-take crafts, rides, fitness activities, educational exhibits, entertainment, costume characters, and displays by City Departments and community organizations that serve children.
Participants should be prepared to provide a free, hands-on activity to approximately 1,000 children, ages 2 to 12 years. Each organization will be given one space free of charge, approximately 10’x10’ in an open area of the park. Because the focus of this festival is on free, non-commercial activities for children, exhibitors are not permitted to sell merchandise, fundraise or solicit money on behalf of their organization at the festival. Businesses and for-profit organizations can participate as a sponsor in the festival by contacting Senior Promotions Coordinator, Renee Popernack at 757-926-1433. To participate as a community vendor
