Sailor Made

AA sailor’s life could be hard work as well as adventure but even while away at sea, there was leisure time that needed to be filled with an activity.  Whether carving scrimshaw or creating intricate pieces of knotwork, many sailors had creative pastimes using materials they had on hand to keep busy while traveling the seas.
