Play & Co. is Hampton Roads’ new premium and modern indoor children’s play center that specializes in play and birthday parties for children ages 1 to 10. The business opened in late 2017 at 12409 Warwick Blvd., in the Hidenwood Shopping Center by the Christopher Newport University campus.
The owners and creators of the business are Matt and Lisa Tabers. While living in San Francisco, they were disappointed in their experiences with indoor children’s play centers for their 3 year-old daughter so they started brainstorming and came up with the concept of Play & Co. During the early part of 2017, they resigned from their corporate jobs, moved to Newport News and opened the business.
Play & Co. works to create an environment that is enjoyable for the entire family. Parent amenities include a parent lounge with coffee bar, Free Wi-Fi, 55” televisions, and a boutique. Children’s amenities include a large indoor playground, creative and imaginative play areas, a large lego wall, restaurant bungalow, toys, board games, and a large 70” movie screen with a stage for dramatic play and story time.
