Newport News Department of Parks and Recreation Special Events division is looking for cultural organizations, art and merchandise vendors for the 4th Annual World Arts Celebration on May 19, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm in City Center at Oyster Point. The one day festival brings cultures from around the globe to Newport News. Guests experience life from around the world through hands-on exhibits, art demonstrations, entertainment and culinary delights.
The Special Events team would like organizations who will create interactive cultural learning experiences festival goers and vendors who showcase and offer a variety of items relative to countries from around the world. Cultural Organizations and Artists are placed throughout the fountain area and are provided with a 10' x 10' covered space, lighting, tables and chairs. Merchandise Vendors are provided with a 10' x 10' covered space and lighting in the "Global Market," a souk-inspired shopping village. Anticipated attendance for this year's event is over 6,000.
