Next orientation is Thursday, January 25, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Main Street Library is hosting a series of orientations for its makerspace, known as the Creative Corner. Each orientation includes makerspace policies, machine safety and an introduction to one of the makerspace’s machines, which includes a 3-D printer, Silhouette and Cricut vinyl cutters, and more.
Library users interested in utilizing the makerspace must attend an orientation session, but participants may attend multiple orientations, enabling them to use more than one piece of equipment. After participants attend an orientation session they can reserve the Creative Corner for independent use for up to four hours at a time.
The Ultimaker 2 3-D Printer has garnered the most interest from participants since the Creative Corner had its grand opening in December 2017. One Library patron printed filament clips for the 3-D printer filament rolls in an effort to make the space better for all users. The Library hopes to add additional equipment in the future based on user interest and feedback.
The next makerspace orientation is Thursday, January 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Main Street Library. Orientations are free and open to all library cardholders in good standing but registration is required. For more information and to register, visit
