Nonstop flights to Myrtle Beach start in April

elite 2Elite Airways announced yesterday new air service from Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport to Myrtle Beach beginning April 6. The twice-weekly nonstop flights are Fridays and Mondays and start at $129 each way. Elite operates a fleet of Bombardier CRJ-200 and CJR-700 jets that will service the route. The pet-friendly airline offers passengers free first checked bag (or oversized golf bag), onboard snacks and no ticketing change fees.

Peninsula Airport Commission Chairman George Wallace said, “The Airport Commission is very pleased that Elite Airways renewed its commitment to the Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport with the announcement of non-stop service to Myrtle Beach. We look forward to working with Elite Airways to make this destination and partnership a success. This is definitely a step in the right direction and the Commission believes we will be able to add new destinations with Elite in the future.”

Featuring 60 miles of beaches and nearly 80 golf courses, Myrtle Beach is a popular tourism destination. The new route will benefit Hampton Roads residents looking to visit the area, as well as provide the opportunity for more travelers to visit Hampton Roads and take advantage of the many tourist attractions here.

According to their website, “Elite Airways was founded in 2006 by airline veterans looking to provide a better travel experience for their passengers. Their goal was to move away from the discount and legacy carrier services that were focused more on the bottom line than a quality travel experience.”
