Newport News high school students are invited to participate in a Teen Clock-In Lock-In from 8:00 p.m. January 26 to 7:00 a.m. January 27. The free event is being held at the Brittingham-Midtown Community Center, 570 McLawhorne Drive in Newport News. The lock-in will feature a DJ, a guest speaker,video games, basketball tournaments, a talent show, carnival games, food, and more. This lock-in is designed for teens ages 14-16 to help make them aware of the dangers of being exposed to drugs and alcohol at an early age.
Online registration is open. Signed permission slips are required and are available from Pinedale Boys & Girls Club, 705 Adams Drive, Newport News Department of Human Services Youth Services, South Morrison, 746 Adams Drive, or at Newport News High Schools. The event is made possible through a grant funded by the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
