The Salvation Army’s Red Kettles and Bell Ringers

Posted on December 20, 2017 at 8:43 AM by Communications Department

Doing The Most Good

salvation armyEvery year from early November through Christmas Eve, you will find Salvation Army red kettles and bell ringers scattered across our area. Every time you drop money into a red kettle, you’re helping families and individuals in need. With a mission summed up in four words – “Doing The Most Good” – The Salvation Army helps those in need through such programs and services as emergency and disaster assistance, back-to-school supplies, camps and after school care, Thanksgiving Baskets and the Angel Tree, among others. Annually, The Salvation Army in the United States aids 30,000,000 people in their time of need.

Although the kettles will be packed away come Sunday, December 24th, there is still time to make a difference for someone in need right here in our community.  As you scurry about making your last minute gift purchases, consider taking a moment to add a little to the kettle and thank the volunteers who help provide warmth and comfort to families in need for the holidays and beyond. For more information about the programs and services available to those in need, visit the Salvation Army of the Virginia Peninsula website.
