Holiday Happenings at the Virginia Living Museum

12-15 VLMThe Virginia Living Museum is celebrating the holidays in style! Enjoy holiday special events as well as on-going exhibits, animals and ecosystems. In the Abbot Planetarium you still have plenty of opportunities to see the Mystery of the Christmas Star.  Over the years, the scientific thinking has changed and archaeology has revealed new clues about the lands in which these events took place, and the understanding of who the Magi might have actually been has grown. Shows run daily December 17-23 and Dec 26-31.Check the VLM website for times. Admission for VLM members is free and $4 plus Museum admission for non-members.  

Holiday Magic is a planetarium celebration of the holiday season with an amazing light show that the whole family will enjoy!  With timeless classics and songs as well as modern holiday music, this show has something for everyone.  Shows run daily December 17-23 and December 26-31. Check the VLM website for times. Admission for VLM members is free and $4 plus Museum admission for non-members. 

Dumpster Doug Ecology Magic Show and Wacky Science Show will delight elementary  school kids as they learn about the earth and how to help save the environment. The shows run December 27-29 at 11:45 a.m. 

On New Year’s Eve day from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., blast off into the new year with VLM’s space adventure-themed Noon Year’s Eve celebration - Stellar Noon Year’s Eve Celebration!  Come dressed for your stellar adventure, meet costumed characters from your favorite galactic movies, and enjoy a variety of fun, spacey activities. The event is included in museum admission. 

The Virginia Living Museum is located at 524 J. Clyde Morris Blvd.in Newport News. Although, the Museum is open daily from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., it will be closed December 24 & 25, and January 1 for the holidays. For more information about exhibits, events or admission, go to the VLM website.
