FY 2017 Operating Budget Adopted

At its regular meeting last night, City Council adopted the5-11 budget_SC Fiscal Year 2017 Operating Budget with a 7 to 0 vote.

City Manager Jim Bourey first presented the recommended budget on March 22nd. Over the past seven weeks, Council has deliberated the funding proposal in three work sessions and held two public hearings. Based on the consensus from the work sessions, there are no City Council changes to the FY 2017 Recommended Budget. 

The total final budget for FY 2017, which begins on July 1, 2016, is $858,587,313. this budget will support operations for one year for general city functions, such as police and fire operations, libraries and parks functions, the School Division, the Waterworks department, just to name a few. There are no new taxes in the adopted budget. There will be some minor user fee increases for water, sewer and stormwater users that are estimated to equate to approximately $23 for the year for the average homeowner.
