Once again, Newport News Interim Police Chief Grinstead is using the NNPD Command Bus as his mobile office to meet with residents and give tours of the bus at his second “Chief on the Go” event. Visit with Chief Grinstead next Tuesday, December 12, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Wawa located at 12095 Jefferson Ave., near Tech Center.
The community is invited to stop by anytime during those hours and talk with the Chief who is available to answer questions about the Department’s current crime prevention initiatives and programs, as well as address other community policing concerns. Spanish speaking officers are also available at “Chief on the Go” to speak with residents about any questions or concerns they have.
The “Chief on the Go” program is an opportunity for Chief Grinstead and officers to spend more time with our citizens and connect with them in their neighborhoods. Chief Grinstead states that he will continue to travel in the Command Bus to other parts of the city and he hopes that people take advantage of this time for one-on-one dialogue and interaction.
