The City of Newport News is starting off the 2017 holiday season with the 14th Annual Hollydazzle, Hampton Roads’ most unique holiday event. Bring family and friends to City Center at Oyster Point on Saturday, December 2, from 4-8 p.m. for this free event. Enjoy activities and entertainment leading up to the spectacular BayPort Credit Union “Fountains of Light Show” with fireworks and special effects and the lighting of the 45 foot Larry King Law Tree, beginning at 7:45 p.m.
While walking around, check out the living statues, fire performers, magicians, a spray paint artist, stilt walkers and more. Children can get interactive in the Snowflake Children’s Area with “make and take” holiday crafts, dance performances, and face painting. Guests can purchase food from 20 different food vendors selling dinner items, snacks, and holiday treats. Choral groups, musicians, dancers, and variety acts are performing on four stages around the fountain.
Park for free at the City Center Merchants Walk Parking Garage, the Fountain Way Parking Garage, and at a satellite lot at Canon Virginia. A free, continuous shuttle bus service will be provided to and from the event area and Canon from 3 to 9 p.m. (the last shuttle bus from the Canon satellite parking lot leaves at 7 p.m. or when the lot is full). Private business parking lots in Oyster Point may enforce towing. For your pet’s safety and the safety of the crowds of people attending the event, please leave your pets at home. Only service animals are permitted on the shuttle buses. A designated viewing area for disabled guests is available on the Fountain Plaza for the light show.
