Honoring those who have served in our nation’s armed forces
On Saturday, November 11 at 11:00 a.m., join the American Legion Braxton-Perkins Post 25 as they honor the brave service personnel who have served in our nation’s armed forces. The public is cordially invited to attend the free ceremony being held at the Victory Arch at 25th Street & West Avenue in Newport News.
Colonel Chris Rogers of the Army Capabilities Integration Center, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command at Fort Eustis, is the guest speaker. Music is provided by the Braxton-Perkins Post 25 Brass Ensemble with Randi Green singing A Veteran’s Halleluiah. The ceremony features the Menchville High School Air Force Junior ROTC color guard and the laying of wreaths to honor veterans from all branches of service.
In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony is being held at the Braxton-Perkins’ post home located at 7609 Marshall Ave in Newport News. Enjoy refreshments at Post 25 following the ceremony. The public is invited to learn about America's rich military heritage at the Virginia War Museum. Visit the museum on Veterans Day and receive $1 off the posted admission prices.
