Advance tickets are still available for the Virginia Living Museum’s Oyster Roast on Veterans Day, Saturday, November 11 from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. The event features all-you-can-eat fresh local Chesapeake Bay oysters, fried seafood, and chowder along with a dessert buffet, a full bar, DJ/live music, and more. Food is provided by the Mathews Lions Club and Waypoint Seafood & Grill. Stratford University culinary students are creating a variety of desserts for guests. The Virginia Living Museum has partnered with St. George Brewing Company to brew an exclusive Oyster Stout. Voted Best of the 757 Gold for Outdoor Festivals four years in a row by Coastal Virginia Magazine, this event is always a sell-out.

The Oyster Roast is an official Green Festival.  There are eco-stations throughout the event for guests to recycle and the majority of the disposable products used at the Oyster Roast are biodegradable and compostable. Advance ticket prices are $50, however, beginning November 6, the ticket price becomes $60. You must be age 21 or older to attend. Tickets include a commemorative glass and two beverage tickets for beer or wine. Tickets are available for purchase online

The Oyster Roast will be held rain or shine and the museum will close at 2:00 p.m. that day to prepare for the event. The Virginia Living Museum is located at 524 J. Clyde Morris Newport News.
