Let your voice be heard
The General Election is almost here which means it’s time again for citizens to elect their next representatives. On November 7, Virginians are making decisions on candidates for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General. Locally, the elections are for the Commonwealth’s Attorney, Sheriff, Commissioner of Revenue, Treasurer, and a member of the House of Delegates. Polls in the Commonwealth of Virginia are open from 6:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Election Day. It is best to arrive early but any voter in line by 7:00 p.m. will be allowed to vote. For the vote to count, voters must be at the correct polling place.
Virginia law requires all voters to provide an acceptable form of photo identification (photo ID) when voting in person at their polling place. For a detailed list of acceptable IDs

. These photo IDs can include but are not limited to:
- Valid Virginia Driver’s License or Identification Card
- Valid Virginia DMV issued Veteran’s ID card
- Valid United States Passport
- Other government-issued photo identification cards (must be issued by US Government, the Commonwealth of Virginia, or a political subdivision of the Commonwealth)
