You and your pets are invited to Mariners’ Museum and Park Saturday, October 21 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. for Barktoberfest 2017. Barktoberfest (formerly Paws for a Cause) is the Peninsula SPCA’s annual fundraiser to benefit homeless animals. This year’s event is taking on a new look and feel by adding a fall festival. In addition to the annual “Paws for a Cause Dog Walk,” spend the day enjoying live music, games, shopping, hayrides, visiting with local animal rescues and much more. Regional micro-breweries are providing craft brew tastings in the Bow-Wow Beer Garden and guests can partake in an exciting costume parade and contest for pets and owners, with great prizes!

Those interested in participating in the dog walk must register for the event. The fee to participate is $20 per person through October 17 then the price increases to $25. Click

Children 6 and under are free (shirts are $6 – while supplies last). Beer tasting tickets are $25 per person and also include general admission and a souvenir pint glass. Guests interested in participating in all of the day’s festivities can purchase the Barktoberfest Package for $35.
