Peninsula SPCA Celebrates Barktoberfest

10-10 barktoberYou and your pets are invited to Mariners’ Museum and Park Saturday, October 21 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. for Barktoberfest 2017. Barktoberfest (formerly Paws for a Cause) is the Peninsula SPCA’s annual fundraiser to benefit homeless animals. This year’s event  is taking on a new look and feel by adding a fall festival. In addition to the annual “Paws for a Cause Dog Walk,” spend the day enjoying live music, games, shopping, hayrides, visiting with local animal rescues and much more. Regional micro-breweries are providing craft brew tastings in the Bow-Wow Beer Garden and guests can partake in an exciting costume parade and contest for pets and owners, with great prizes!  

10-10 barktober 2Those interested in participating in the dog walk must register for the event. The fee to participate is $20 per person through October 17 then the price increases to $25. Click here to register for the walk online. General admission for the event is $5 per person or buy 3 and get 1 free (does not include shirt or beer tasting). Children 6 and under are free (shirts are $6 – while supplies last). Beer tasting tickets are $25 per person and also include general admission and a souvenir pint glass. Guests interested in participating in all of the day’s festivities can purchase the Barktoberfest Package for $35. This includes general admission, dog walk, t-shirt(while supplies last), beer tasting ticket, and souvenir pint glass.
