Last week, Pearl Bailey Library started a series of courses focused on getting into college. The free workshops – taking place on the first Thursday of the month, now through December – teaches students and their families how to select schools that are a good fit, navigate financial aid and scholarships, and how to write a great personal essay.
The series kicked off with “Picking the Right School” and will continue on October 5 with “Paying for College,” followed by “Writing Your Personal Statement” on November 2, and closes with “The Study Habits You Need in College” on December 7. All courses take place in the Pearl Bailey Library meeting room from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. This series is open to all high school students, especially juniors and seniors, and family members. Registration is required and may be done in-person, by calling the Library at 757-247-8677, or online at
NN Public Library Events.
