Planning a reunion? Let the Newport News Tourism Office give you a hand! Join them on Saturday, September 23, from 9:00 -11:00 a.m. at the Brittingham-Midtown Community Center, 570 McLawhorne Drive, for a free Reunion-Planning Workshop. Whether you’re getting together with old classmates, shipmates, friends or family, this event will help you plan and organize a successful and memorable reunion in Newport News. It was created specifically to provide information and resources to community members who may be tasked with planning a reunion of any type.
Key features of the workshop include:
- Planning ahead and staying organized for a successful and memorable reunion in Newport News;
- Finding Newport News hotels and caterers that meet your reunion needs;
- Handling contracts; and
- Making the most of local attractions, activities, and city amenities (such as parks, picnic areas, and community centers) to entertain your guests in Newport News.
An additional component of the workshop is a vendor fair. Throughout the morning, reunion planners have the opportunity to network with vendors from city attractions, hotels, restaurants and other hospitality industry partners. Guests can gather tips, useful ideas and advice for successful reunions of all sizes and types! This valuable reunion-planning seminar is free, but registration is required by September 18.
