The United Way of Virginia Peninsula (UWVP) is gearing up for this year’s campaign with a kickoff event on Wednesday, September 6, in the City Center Pavilion from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The event serves to get the community, businesses, and service organizations excited about helping to reach the $6 million goal by December. Money raised through the campaign is given to nonprofits who serve the greater peninsula so they can continue carrying out their missions. At the free event, guests can enjoy multiple food trucks, music, and family activities. Guests can also learn more about the organizations who benefit from the campaign funds and partner with the UWVP.
The United Way Campaign is an effort to support community organizations who work to ensure citizens and families have access to a great education, financial well-being, health care, safe living environment, and sense of community. Interested in being a part of the campaign? UWVP has partnered with many businesses and organizations for workplace giving, allowing donations to be made via payroll deduction. Donations, which are tax deductible, can also be made
