Newport News Waterworks and
askHRgreen.org have partnered

with
Help 2 Others and
Give Local 757 to raise awareness about the importance of tap water by hosting a pop-up Drinking Water Week event in Hampton Roads on May 3.
During the event, a magic faucet will suddenly appear on the Peninsula. To get the clues needed to track down the faucet, participants must listen to HOT 100.5, EAGLE 97.3 and 92.9 The Wave; visit the
Let's Talk Green blog; or follow askHRgreen.org on
Facebook or
Twitter. The first 200 guests at the location will receive an askHRgreen.org reusable shopping bag and water bottle!
The magic faucet serves as a reminder that having clean, safe tap water delivered to resident taps really isn't magic at all. There is an entire water system, working behind the scenes, to pull water from its source, clean it, test and monitor it for safety and then deliver it to faucets via a network of over 6,500 miles of pipes.
AskHRgreen.org is an environmental stewardship public awareness program of the 17 local governments in Hampton Roads administered through the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission (HRPDC.)
