The Hampton Roads Community Action Program (HRCAP) is accepting applications for its 2017 Adult Career Training (ACT). HRCAP’s ACT program helps participants obtain the skills needed to enter today’s job market. The program pays for participants to attend classes that lead toward a certification. ACT is open to individuals who are at least 18 years old with a high school diploma/GED, considered low-income, and currently unemployed or underemployed.
Participants can choose from 24 programs including auto collision and refinishing, carpentry, computer applications, dental assisting, pharmacy technician, legal assistant, HVAC, plumbing and more. Classes are held at New Horizons Regional Education Center, a partner of the ACT Program. The deadline to apply to the ACT Program is Friday, August 25. Program space is limited.
