
Newport News is hosting the 2016 Virginia Senior Games May 18 – 21, and athletes 50 years of age and older are encouraged to
sign up to participate. Events will be held at various venues throughout the City. The deadline for registration is Sunday, May 1st. Seniors will compete in 18 sports including archery, badminton, basketball, billiards, bowling, cycling, disc golf, golf, horseshoes, pickleball, racquetball, road race, softball,

swimming, table tennis, tennis, track & field, and volleyball.
The Virginia Senior Games is an open competition with no qualifying scores/times required for entry. Medalists (except for Billiards and Softball) will qualify to compete at the National Senior Games held in Birmingham, Alabama in the summer of 2017.

Competitors will celebrate with the Athletes’ Party at City Center at Oyster Point on Friday, May 20th from 5 PM – 8 PM. Like the competition, the party is free and open to the public to enjoy the live music, refreshments, and a variety of carnival-theme related games and activities.
