Once a year neighborhoods across the country team up with local police departments to host National Night Out events in their cities. These events

promote community-police partnerships and comradery between neighbors with the understanding that by working together neighborhoods become safer, better places to live. Tomorrow, August 1, Newport News Public Libraries is joining the cause and hosting
National Night Out events at three of their branches.
Stop by Main Street Library from 6:00-8:00 p.m. for a showing of the American sports comedy film The Mighty Ducks along with refreshments. This is a family event and the film is rated PG. Enjoy a Family Fun Night full of games, coloring and other fun activities at Pearl Bailey Library from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Grissom Library staff is hosting for a night of fun and games for National Night Out from 7:00-8:30 p.m.! Bingo is for ages 6 and up and crafts are provided for ages 2-5. Registration is required for the Grissom event.
