Your Water Bill: What’s changing for FY2018

Posted on July 10, 2017 at 8:15 AM by Communications Department

Effective July 1, water service fees for Newport News Waterworks customers have increased; however, there has been no increase in water consumption rates for the new fiscal year. For the average residential customer with a 5/8” meter, this equates to an increase of $1 per month in the service fee. While a department of the City of Newport News, water faucet drip_SCWaterworks receives no money from the City to operate and is dependent upon revenue from customers in terms of fees and charges for water service, delivery and connection for its operations. Even with this increase,

Newport News Waterworks still delivers safe drinking water to the average single-family residential customer for about a $1 per day. Newport News Waterworks is a regional water provider owned and operated by the City of Newport News that serves over 400,000 residents in Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, and York County, and in part of James City County. For additional rate and fee information, please visit the Waterworks website or contact Waterworks Customer Service at 926-1000 or wwcustservice@nnva.gov.
