Spectacular fireworks show, food vendors and children's activities
Next Tuesday, July 4th, our country is celebrating 241 years of independence. Spend the evening with the City of Newport News this year at the annual “4th of July Stars in the Sky”

event at Victory Landing Park! The celebration begins at 7:00 p.m. with free children’s activities, strolling entertainment and live music from the “Tomcats Dixieland Band” and the United States Air Force Heritage of America Band “The Blue Aces.” Purchase food from a variety of vendors including funnel cakes, hot dogs, hamburgers, and frozen treats. Be sure to stick around until the end to see fireworks light up the sky in a show by the internationally award winning fireworks company Pyrotecnico, presented by Newport News Shipbuilding.
Admission and parking is free and the event is open to the public. No pets, alcohol, bicycles, skateboards, or radios are permitted inside the event area. For more information, call the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism at 757-926-1400 or visit the
