Libraries Offer Summer Reading Programs

Youth and adults can collect prizes and giveaways

The Newport News Public Library System is offering free reading programs for both youth and adults with plenty of opportunities to win prizes. Adult reading program_SCBoys, girls, and adults of all ages have the chance to spend the summer reading and experiencing the excitement that a good novel can bring. Youth and adults can register at any Newport News Public Library or online. The programs end on July 31.

Use your library card to check out books and audiobooks or download e-books and e-audiobooks, and then start tracking your reading. Another way to win prizes is to attend library programs and participate in activities at any of the Newport News Public Libraries. The programs are free and you can collect prizes for reading, earn tickets for prize drawings and receive coupons for free stuff as you complete each level. Adult Summer Readers could win gift certificates for youth reading program_SCWhole Foods Market and/or a spa package from DeStress Express Massage and Spa, valued at $250!
