On Saturday, April 30, from 9 AM to 3 PM,

Jefferson Lab is opening its doors to the public for an Open House! This one-day event offers visitors the opportunity to participate in tours, lectures, and special exhibits, all designed to give people of all ages a better idea of the work that takes place at this premier nuclear physics research facility right here in Newport News. Activities will be spread out over a loop of about two miles and while walking is permitted over much of the loop, free shuttle buses will be available to transport visitors between most of the stops. Some activities may require walking, use of stairs and inclined truck ramps, so wear comfortable shoes. Bring your cameras because photography and video-recording is allowed.

There is no admission fee for this rain-or-shine event. Jefferson Lab is located at 12000 Jefferson Avenue and free parking will be available via the Hogan Drive entrance off of Jefferson Avenue. Vendors will be on-site with snacks and refreshments available for purchase. Entry to the event closes at 2:00 PM, so make sure to come early.
