Bring your friends and family to King-Lincoln Park this summer to enjoy three free, fun-filled events! The Southeast Community Celebration series kicks off Saturday, June 24, from 5-8 p.m. with a gospel concert featuring J.J. Hairston joined by a city-wide mass choir. Enjoy free hotdogs (while supplies last) and purchase other food items from food trucks on site. Limited seating is available in the park so bring your own blankets and chairs.
Other Southeast Community Celebration events include a movie night with games, children’s activities and free popcorn on Saturday, July 22, from 5-8 p.m. and a jazz concert featuring the Jae Sinnett Zero to 60 Quartet and Karla Crump on Saturday, August 26, from 5-8 p.m. Enjoy food trucks at both of these events.
Southeast Community Celebration is sponsored by the City of Newport News, Jim’s Local Market, the Newport News Police Foundation and numerous Newport News pastors and churches. All events are free and open to the public. No pets are permitted on the event site. Blankets and chairs are welcome.
