DETECTING HISTORY: Who was Stanley Kennon?
One day local memorabilia collector Frederick Mays

was at an estate sale and came upon a Newport News High School annual of a deceased city resident, Stanley Kennon. Curious about the man, Mays began a historical investigation to put flesh on the bones of this individual. Through primary research and coincidental conversations, he gradually learned details about Kennon’s family and life. This exploration led to his acquisition of other items pertaining to Kennon and unexpectedly, a determination of his own connection to this intriguing figure. Join Warwick County Historical Society at noon on Wednesday, June 21 at the Warwick County Courthouse, 14421 Old Courthouse Way, as Mays relates the sleuthing journey he took to track down the mysterious Kennon.
