The Newport News Police Department, in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration, will participate in the

National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on April 30th from 10 AM to 2 PM. Anyone with unused/unwanted prescription drugs in your medicine cabinet, the National Drug Take-Back Day event is the best option for safely discarding the medicine. During the event, officers will collect the medication and properly dispose of them, no questions asked. Medications that are not properly disposed of can pollute water supplies and cause harm to children, pets and others.
