Seafood Industrial Park Lease Renewal
City Council approved a 20 year lease renewal for PAPCO, Inc. in the Seafood Industrial Park. A tenant of the park since 1997, PAPCO provides dockside fuel and lubricant services for ocean-going trawler fleet homeported at the Seafood Industrial Park as well as numerous other industrial vessels frequenting the park. PAPCO also delivers fuel and lubricant products to land based entities.

Appropriation for Economic Development Initiatives
City Council also appropriated last night $1.3 million from the Community Development category of this year’s Capital Improvements Plan for ongoing economic development activities and initiatives, including strategic property acquisitions and infrastructure.

Performance Evaluations
The City Attorney, Collie Owens, and the City Clerk, Mabel Washington Jenkins, were evaluated by Council during the closed portion of yesterday’s afternoon work session. In the regular meeting last night, Council voted to give each of them a  3% raise. The City Attorney, City Clerk and City Manager are the three positions that are appointed and evaluated by City Council. City Manager Cindy Rohlf, having just been appointed in March, was not evaluated this time, but will be next June.

Other Actions
All items on last night’s regular City Council meeting agenda were approved, and the entire Council meeting can be viewed on-demand.
