It’s election season again in Virginia for Democrats and Republicans. In this Primary election, Virginians are making a decision on candidates for Governor and Lieutenant Governor, and in the Democratic primary the Newport News Commissioner of Revenue too.

Planning on voting in the Virginia Primaries on Tuesday, June 13? Here’s some basic information:
Absentee in-person voting:
Voters may vote absentee in person at City Hall (2400 Washington Avenue) through Friday, June 9 from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. or at the voter registrar’s satellite office in City Center (700 Town Center Drive) Thursday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Both offices are open for the last day of in-person absentee voting on Saturday, June 10, from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Polling times and locations:
Polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Polling locations are based on the address listed during voter registration. To find your correct polling location visit the
