Interested in becoming a Newport News Firefighter/Medic? If so, we have some good news! Newport News and Hampton Fire departments are joining together to hold a series of information sessions to help interested applicants have a better understanding of the recruitment process before it opens July 21. Staff from both departments are on site at each session to discuss the hiring process and provide insight into what it takes to be a successful candidate as well as answer questions.

The first round of info sessions take place at the Newport News Fire Training Center, 17300 Warwick Boulevard, on Thursday, June 22, at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., and 2 p.m. The second round of sessions take place at Hampton Fire Station 11, 1304 Big Bethel Road, on Wednesday, July 12, at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., and 2 p.m. All sessions at both locations contain the same information and there is no need to attend more than one. Interested applicants are not required to attend an information session; however, it is recommended. For more information about the overall hiring process or about the sessions visit the either the
Newport News Fire or the
Hampton Fire websites.
