Voter Registration
You may register to vote year-round. The books close 22 days prior to a general election. To be eligible to register to vote you must be:
- a citizen of the United States
- a resident of Virginia
- at least 18 years of age by the next general election
Registering to Vote
If you meet the eligibility requirements, you can register to vote using any of the methods listed below. If you are active, uniformed military stationed abroad please visit elections.virginia.gov for more information regarding voter registration.
You can register to vote online by visiting vote.virginia.gov.
