Newport News Crime Line – Week of October 7th, 2019


I’m MPO Brandon Maynard  The Newport News Police Department needs your help to solve a past shooting.

On August 25th, 2019 at 9:19 PM, Newport News Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Blair Avenue in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, a 25 year-old Newport News man suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim was sitting inside his vehicle when a confrontation occurred outside and gunshots were fired, striking the victim. The victim was transported by medics to a local hospital for further treatment. The investigation remains ongoing.
