Crime Line – Report an Anonymous Tip

Newport News Crime Line – Week of December 9th, 2019


I’m MPO Brandon Maynard.  The Newport News Police Department needs your help to solve a recent robbery.

On December 10th, 2019, approximately 8:51 PM, Newport News police responded to Sunoco, at 15215 Warwick Blvd., in reference to a robbery from the business. A preliminary investigation revealed that an unknown male entered the business, brandished a firearm, and demanded money. The suspected took an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency and fled on foot south of the business. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a black male with a light complexion, about 5 feet 4 inches. He was wearing a gray hoodie, dark pants, black and white shoes, what appeared to be blue nitrile gloves, and an unknown item covering his face. He appears to have some sort of marking/tattoo on his right wrist.
