Shooting/Aggravated Assault

I’m MPO Brandon Maynard.  The Newport News Police Department needs your help to solve a recent shooting.

On September 5th, 2018, at approximately 11:59 AM, Newport News Police were dispatched to the 800 block of 36th Street in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, a 16 year-old Newport News male, suffering from a gunshot wound to his forearm. He was transported to a local hospital for further treatment. The only suspect information provided was an unknown black male in a dark-colored vehicle. The investigation remains ongoing.
