This new schedule will allow two visits per week with parents/legal guardians during the designated hours. Resident who are a level 4 are eligible to have a 40-minute visit and may have visits with no more than two siblings 12 years of age or younger. Any other visitors must be approved by the Secure Detention Administrator or through Court Order.
Only the parent(s), legal guardian(s), and grandparent(s) are allowed to visit. Visitors will be required to show proof of identification.
Each POD is allotted 30 minutes for visitation.
Visitors will report to the Auxiliary Control Room to check in. After processing at this station (to include wand search), authorized visitors will be instructed to enter the visitation room. Cellphones, keys, purses, coats, and other items must be stored in a locker outside of the visitation room.
The Newport News Juvenile Detention Center reserves the right to refuse visitation to anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Blank slots on the schedule indicate times when no visitation is permitted.
